Higher Education and Careers

Careers plays an important role in Mayfield education, ensuring that we promote a culture of aspirational, personalised Careers guidance and direction to ensure that each girl has an appropriate individual pathway to future success.
A structured careers program that provides consistent guidance, allows students to explore post secondary education options and opportunities for work experience.
Throughout their school journey, our students learn about different careers and pathways to help them shape their futures.

The OC Network
Our alumni network, the “OCs” are very generous with their time to inspire our students by sharing their experiences, giving advice and offering work experience.

Work Experience
All students are encouraged to find meaningful work experience post GCSEs, using their own contacts, research and our extensive alumni network.
Careers Fair October 2025
There was a real buzz throughout the school at the Careers Fair on Wednesday evening. With 38 stands representing a range of industries, students had an excellent opportunity to discuss their aspirations and talk about careers that they had not considered. It was also great to catch up with OCs who really inspired students with their journeys after Mayfield. Years 7 to 9 had fun asking exhibitors questions to complete their quiz.
We were very privileged to have Georgina Worrall as the keynote speaker with her excellent talk, "Resilience While Navigating the Career Pathway". A special thanks must go to our sponsor GCS Retail Loss Prevention.
