Mayfield is celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE success, with half of all grades awarded at 9 or 8 — including 30% at the highest grade 9.
Sofia achieved an outstanding eight grade 9s and two grade 8s. She is also a talented sportswoman, having played netball at county level and, last year, being selected for a place on London Pulse’s Academy Programme. In addition, she is an active member of Mayfield’s Model United Nations team, representing the school at ToMUN in Poland.

She said: “I am extremely happy and grateful for the grades I have achieved. After an invaluable education at Mayfield, and with constant support from so many devoted teachers, I am overjoyed with the final results. I want to thank the amazing community I have been part of for helping me follow all my passions — in the classroom, on the sports pitches, and within the chaplaincy.”
Local girl Annalise, achieved fantastic results, including five grade 9s and two grade 8s. She is an active participant in Mayfield’s Scholars' Society and a wonderful role model for the younger girls.

She said: “I am very proud of my GCSE results and extremely grateful to my teachers and peers for their support throughout this journey. They helped me achieve the results I hoped for, and I know they will continue to support me just as much during my A Levels.”
Ivana, an accomplished cellist, achieved an outstanding nine grade 9s.

She said: “I am very pleased with my GCSE results. Coming to Mayfield as a boarder in Year 7 was initially a challenge, but the school has provided a nurturing and encouraging environment. It has helped me to recognise my worth and supported me throughout my GCSE journey. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my teachers, family, and friends for their constant guidance and encouragement.”
Jasmine achieved six grade 9s, two grade 8s and one grade 7. She was also one of three Mayfield girls to receive a commendation in Ceramics, recognising her as one of the top performers in the country.

She said: “I’m incredibly happy with my results and I would like to thank everyone around me — especially my teachers, family and friends — for supporting me throughout this journey. I could not
have done it without them. I’m excited to continue pursuing my interests at A Level, including Ceramics, Physics and Maths, and I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead at Mayfield.”
Other notable achievements across Mayfield’s GCSE cohort include:
• Strong performance across the Sciences with 43% of grades at 9 across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• 100% grades 9-7 in Art amongst a cohort of 20 girls.
• 75% grades 9-8 in Computer Science.
Mayfield’s Headmistress, Deborah Bligh, commented:
“I am so proud of our girls and absolutely delighted with this year’s GCSE results. For half of all grades to be awarded at 9 or 8 is an exceptional achievement and reflects not only their determination and hard work, but also the tireless support, expertise and encouragement of their teachers. At Mayfield, our small classes mean every girl is known and valued as an individual, and it is inspiring to see them thrive and make such extraordinary progress when given the right support and challenge.”
“While we celebrate their impressive academic success, what truly sets a Mayfield girl apart is the kindness, creativity and confidence she shows in using her talents to make a positive difference in the world. Our rounded approach nurtures intellectual curiosity alongside emotional resilience, producing outstanding results while developing the whole person.”
“As they move into the Sixth Form, I am excited to see them grow as leaders, discover new passions and continue to flourish in ways that are unique and meaningful to each of them as we guide them on the next stage of their academic adventure.”
