4. Naming Clothing & Belongings
All items of uniform and home clothes must be named with a sew-on name tape. Name tapes are usually in blue capitals but if you wish you may choose a different font/colour. Name tapes should show, at least, the pupil’s surname followed by their initial (e.g. Smith , RH).
All equipment must be named with an adhesive name tape or with indelible ink. Other items such as asthma inhalers, laptop chargers etc. must also be named. It is important that all belongings are clearly named so that all lost/mislaid possessions can then be returned to their owners.
Please note: Boarders must have all home clothes and bedding named as well (this is not included as part of the sewing service offered by the School Shop).
School Uniform Naming Service
We offer a uniform naming service for all items purchased through us, including socks. This service excludes home clothes, underwear, and bedding/towels. As your daughter progresses through the school, we will continue to name any subsequent uniform purchases, as long as the naming service remains available. The cost of this service is £105 plus VAT, totalling £126.00.
Additionally, you will need sew-on name tapes (iron-on tapes are not acceptable). You can provide your own or purchase them from us at an extra cost:
- 72 Name Tapes: £12.50
- 144 Name Tapes: £15.50
Please note, the naming service must be ordered in advance so we can coordinate with the seamstress and arrange for the name tapes (if we are supplying them).
For international orders, the naming service is mandatory to ensure all uniforms are named by the first day of term, unless you can make arrangements to have the uniforms named yourself or collected separately.
For boarders, the uniform will be stored in their boarding houses and ready upon arrival. If preferred, you can collect it earlier. Day pupils will receive an email, and arrangements can be made to pick up the uniform at a convenient time.
